Hucclecote is ideally located for commuting to Bristol, Gloucester and Cheltenham with easy access to the M5 for more distant destinations. There is also a regular bus service for access to Gloucester and Cheltenham which also have good train services to London and the South West.

Hucclecote Surgery which was extensively re-developed in 1998 provides the area's Doctors. For Hospitals the area is serviced by Gloucester and Cheltenham Hospitals and for the private sector, there is the Nuffield in Cheltenham.

Being situated between Gloucester and Cheltenham there is a wide range of leisure activities available, from sailing in Gloucester to horse racing in Cheltenham.
